Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani strongly condemned the recent terrorist bombing in Chabahar, and urged Sunni and Shiite Muslims to be vigilant against the divisive plots hatched by the arrogant powers.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - In a message to condemn the Wednesday terrorist bombing in the Southeastern port city of Chabahar that killed at least 37 people and wounded 95 others, Rafsanjani said, "Muslim nations of the world, including Shiites and Sunnis, should dash the arrogant powers' hope for coming out of the quagmire of their wrong policies through sowing discord among the Islamic states."

The former Iranian president added that today the most important duty of all religious scholars, elites and scientists and all Muslims, including the Shiites and Sunnis, is finding and fighting the source of this plot.

Rafsanjani further expressed confidence that the divisive plots and acts carried out against Iranians would remain futile and would result in nothing but further consolidation and unity of the Islamic Ummah (community).

The message came three days after at least 37 people, including women and children, were killed and 95 others were wounded when a bomb exploded near crowds of mourners who had gathered to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hossein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the third Imam of Shiite Islam.

The Pakistani-based Jundollah terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
